Ketika Kita Tidak Berdaya Menolong/Mengabulkan Permintaan Anak

Intinya give the child his wish in fantasy instead of explanation or logic.

Contoh kasus yang saya pernah dengar adalah:

Anak ingin sarapan sereal coklat, ternyata yang tersedia hanya sereal madu. Nah kalau anak kecil kan ga mau ngerti, kadang-kadang jadi nangis-nangis minta yang coklat, nah kita bisa bilang: “I know how you love chocolate cereal. I wish I have a magic warn that can turn this cereal into 1000 bowls of chocolate ones.”

Jadi saya terapin deh: “I know how you feel. I like rabbits too. They are so cute. I wish we can have a rabbit pet so you can play with it every day. What will you do if the rabbit is hungry? What will you do if the rabbit licks you?” bla..bla..bla.. . Akhirnya dia bisa ketawa-ketawa membayangkan kalau dijilat kelinci geli dan sebagainya, ga sedih lagi.

BERHASIL!!!!

Biarin aja mereka kayak gitu, tapi kamu jangan seperti mereka ya.

Anak      : Bikin kesel tapiiiii

Saya       : Tarik nafas panjang coba kalau lagi kesel banget.

Anak      : 😡 😡

Saya       : Nanti kalau keselnya udah redaan, coba berdoa untuk mereka, belajar melepaskan pengampunan. Rugi deh pokoknya kalau kita masukin dalam hati.

Anak      : Abis gimana?

Saya       : Emang kadang orang-orang disekitar kita bisa ngeselin kita. Susah sih memang, cuman sabar ya cie.

Anak      : 😡 😡

Saya       : I wish I can sulap them into flower hahaha

Anak      : Hahaha…ga pa pa lah…lihat aja nanti gimana… udah malam…nite mami.

Saya       : Tadinya mami mau bilang mau sulap into mice, tapi nanti kamar kamu jadi ada micenya nanti,  terus nanti kamu kegelian lagi hahaha lompat-lompat di bed.

Anak      : Hahaha….rabbits aja or dogs or cats ….. so I will have pets 😀 😀

Saya       : Hahaha rabbits  lucu sih tapi kata dede “it poops all the time and everywhere”

Anak      : Hahaha… I love you…nite mami

Saya       : I love you…nite…

BERHASIL!!!! Emoticonnya yang awal pembicaraan 😡 😡 😡   berubah jadi  😀 😀 😀

Silakan dipraktekkan Parents! Happy Parenting!

Parents – Career day 2018

At October 23, 2018, Love To Learn held a special event to introduce some occupations the parents have to the students. Some parents participated to show and tell about their jobs. The classrooms were changed into a mini Kidzania, where each room has 1 kind of profession, such as doctor, pilot, beauty salon, and paint factory.

On this special day, the students wear costumes of occupations they want to be in the future. They also experienced some parents’ job by visiting the rooms full with related activities. We are really glad to see the enthusiasms of the parents and students in this special event. We hope that through this activity the bonding within parents and kids will grow stronger, as well as the kids’ social skills.
